How to migrate SiCKRAGE to Python 3

Please follow the steps below to migrate you’re install of SiCKRAGE to use Python 3, you can determine you’re install type by checking settings -> help & info and looking at SR Install Type

GIT Install

  1. From settings perform a backup
  2. Shutdown SiCKRAGE
  3. Install Python 3.7 from https://www.python.org/downloads/ if on Windows or apt install python3.7 if on Linux
  4. Run from SiCKRAGE install folder git fetch --all
  5. Run from SiCKRAGE install folder git reset --hard origin/master if on MASTER branch or git reset --hard origin/develop if on DEVELOP branch
  6. Run from SiCKRAGE install folder python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt
  7. Start SiCKRAGE as normal but use python3 instead of python2
  8. Confirm you are using Python 3 by going to settings -> help & info and looking at Python Version
  9. From settings perform a restore then restart SiCKRAGE

Windows Install

  1. From settings perform a backup
  2. Shutdown SiCKRAGE
  3. Download and install Python 3.7 from https://www.python.org/downloads/
  4. Download and install https://sickrage.ca/downloads/setup.zip (uninstall previous versions of SiCKRAGE first, then remove all files from install folder c:\sickrage except data folder, delete .git folder if exists as well)
  5. Confirm you are using Python 3 by going to settings -> help & info and looking at Python Version
  6. From settings perform a restore then restart SiCKRAGE
